The world where appearance is treated like
a basic necessity, possession of a perfect body has become essential. To
enhance the appearance, people follow different paths with the desire of
reaching the same destination, a flawless, flexible and perfect figure! Diet
food has become popular among the crowd aspiring to master the art of fitness.
But the question arises, is diet food really beneficial or is it just a myth?
Here are some pros and cons of diet food that describes the extent to which
diet food is beneficial.
PROS
Just like a coin has two sides and it will
be wrong to be biased with one side before discussing the cons of diet food,
first let’s throw some light on the pros. Diet food can be favourable to us in
the following ways.

- · It flattens our stomach and the desire for good appearance is fulfilled.

- · People appreciate a person with good physical appearance and when appreciated we feel good about our own self and feel worth enough.
- · Diet food helps in reducing weight if consumed properly. Managed low calorie diet controls weight
- · Reduction of weight makes us free from many diseases.
- · Diet food is made of low calorie count thus help us decrease the calorie intake.
- · First impression is the last impression! When we look good, we become confident in all that we do which indeed leaves a remarkable first impression on people around us.
- · Diet food is light in nature and therefore can easily be consumed.
CONS
Research says that consumption of diet food
has more negative effects than positive and therefore intake of diet food must
be avoided.
- · Diet food is cooked strictly using low calorie material to regulate weight loss but in counter effect it decreases the metabolism.
- · Instead of burning the fats, our body start storing fats.
- · Many a times one suffers from excessive and sudden hunger pangs due to incapability of diet food in covering the required amount of nutrients intake.
- · They can turn out to be unhealthy and unfit for regular consumption as they lack many useful micro nutrients.
- · When we stop eating diet food and suddenly jump to the regular food, chances are there that we might gain more weight than before.
- · Many diet foods contain high protein level which in return generates other issues like kidney stones, high cholesterol and sometimes even kidney failure.
- · On emotional terms, a person gets irritated really quick while consuming diet food on daily basis as it fails to fulfill the basic requirement of human body.
- · It becomes monotonous eating same food and becomes difficult to carry on with.
- · It also leads to dehydration as body becomes deficient of sodium component that hold water.
- · Decrease in concentration and productivity is observed since human body takes energy from food and when the supply does not meet the demand, it creates adverse effects.

Comparing the pros and cons, diet food has
more negative effects than positive. This does not mean that you cannot do
anything to get your body in shape. Rely on exercises, intake of healthy diet,
try yoga or aerobics. Engage in outdoor games like basketball, football, squash
etc in order to remain fit and healthy. Moreover you might get slimmer through
consuming diet food, but the natural charm on your face will be lost but
engaging in outdoor activities will fulfill your motive and also will keep you
as adorable as before. So better say no to diet food!
